Getting to know…you…getting to know all about you…

Hey all! Here is part 2 of our Getting To Know Us Series! Let’s dig deeper and ask those really tough questions..just kidding..maybe a few of that and maybe a few more light hearted ones!  20 Questions… here we go!

What was the most interesting trip you have ever taken? Why?
Definitely my trip to Europe with my sister. We travelled along the Mediterranean Sea visited: Greece, Italy, France and Spain. We met a ton of people, were away for a month, and had an amazing time experiencing all the different cultures, and seeing different places.

If you had a million dollars how would you spend it?

I’d definitely help my family pay off debts, probably buy a house, and donate the rest…1 million is not much these days…which is unfortunate…but pretty realistic.

What was the funniest thing you have ever experienced?
Hmm.. nothing too crazy has happened to me. But remembering something funny..Seriously laughing over something with my family.
What one thing that has happened in your life has made the biggest impact on who you are today?
My parents got divorced when I was three, so that really shaped my upbringing. My dad got remarried, and now we have a half sister Zoe, and she is wonderful- and very much like us! We also from this got another Mama, a German Mama, who is a wonderful person and loves us as her own. And now we have more then 1 home to come to!

If you could meet anyone (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
I’d love the meet famous designers/architects who helped shape the design industry to what it is now. That would be really neat to see and live through their design processes, and creations.

What is something that not a lot of people know about you but you WISH more people COULD know?
I am a really great friend…I think. I am loyal, thoughtful and really care about someone once we form a friendship.

Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far, and why?
Definitely my mom, and my sister.  We were raised by my Mum to be strong women, and I couldn’t give back to my Mum enough! My sister is my best friend, And thinking of my half sister Zoe, it would be really lonely to be an only kid…so I love having a companion to do almost anything and everything with unconditionally.

What is your favourite tradition from your childhood, that you would love to pass on if you were to ever have children (or if they’re older, what one tradition did you pass on that was most important to you?)?
Hmmm…there are definitely a few.
We always spent Friday nights doing something as a family until the teenage years.
We went out for special dinners for birthdays- fancy dinners.
Christmas happened on Christmas Eve for us.
My mum would let us eat dessert for breakfast! Even our German mama would too!

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Charismatic, intuitive, modest

What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?
Either Destiny by Zero 7, or right now Shake It Out by Florence and the Machine

What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
Cleaning out the dishwasher

What is your favourite form of exercise?
Lifting weights or dancing- as of yesterday Zumba-ing!

What is your favourite time of day/day of the week/month of the year?
Summer evenings around 7/8pm when the sun is setting and the skies are bluey/purpley/pinkey/orange

If you had to work on only one project for the next year, what would it be?
A vacation home in Hawaii!

If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?
Wow, never thought of that. Maybe something cool like Charlie…but Charlie Chong?!? Not so much!

Have you ever had something happen to you that you thought was bad but it turned out to be for the best?
Yes, bad jobs, bad clients…I learn and grow from everything that happens, and it is life’s way of making sure you are prepared for what is to come. In the moments it definitely sucks, but afterwards, it probably made you stronger.

What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up?
The Art of Racing In The Rain- one of my all time faves about a dog, and life from his point of view. I was standing at the airport, crying my eyes out. Everyone around me was probably thinking I just got dumped or something!

What was the last experience that made you a stronger person?
A disagreement with a client. In this job you come across so many different people with different personalities. It is a service, and you have to go into their homes and make them feel like you totally understand what they want, but at the same time tell them what they need. Not everyone is as understanding/patient as I’d like them to be…and that becomes a challenge. But with that said I also have great clients who would do anything and everything for me- these are the ones who make this job totally worth it!

What do you miss most about being a kid?
Carefree attitude. Being a mummy’s girl and not having people concerned about it. Eating whatever I want and being a toothpick!

What story does your family always tell about you?
About how promises to me are not taking lightly. How this one time my ski got nicked on a pole and I tumbled like a snowball and said, “I thought I could make it!”. How I was always as happy as a clam about life, and super smiley!
