Halloween festivities!

This was us this past weekend…

This was me and Buns opening the door and scaring little children, now if only he could say BOO!

What a good sport! Hope you were following along!

Weekend birthday celebrations!

I wanted to make my 29th birthday extra special… because that means I only have 1 more year before I turn 30, and I really don’t look forward to that day … there is something scary about turning 30.  Just like it was scary when I turned 20 and 25 … let’s face it, we just don’t like to get old.

A friend keeps telling me that 30′s are the best … his reasoning is that in 30′s you are financially stable (or at least you should be) and therefore you can afford to have nice things and have extravagant meals at all the hip restaurants and go places that some of us could only dream of going in their 20′s. So even though he has a good point, nevertheless I am not looking forward to that day

So for my birthday this past weekend, we headed to Niagara-on-the-Lake. It is one of my favorite places in the world and best part is that it’s only couple of hours drive from home.

So this is what we did …

We started off with a delicious late lunch at Riverband Inn.

Went for a walk around the town … and we recently started to take pictures of our feet whenever we get far enough from Toronto.  We got this idea from here and we thought it was a great way to remember that moment.

Some beautiful sky by the lake.

This little lady came by to say hi to us.

This was our dinner … oh boy was it delicious!!!

… and of course finished it off the next day with some Asian food.

Hope you all had wonderful weekend!

… and hope you are all having a wonderful Wednesday!

Life Lately …

Things have been busy around here and as you might have noticed my blogging has suffered.  When life gets busy … one has to learn to prioritize and juggle all of and I have yet to master it.  It was easier when I was in school and had a part time job.

So here is what I have been up to for the last couple of weeks … oh and we watched tons of Olympics!!!

Quality time with the family and my little monkey!  We think she is a little human … aside from being obsessed with her ball she shows no other traits of a dog.

Got a car … well sort of.  We signed up for car2go and we are loving it.  It’s like Auto Share or ZipCar except that their cars are only Smart Cars.

Oh and it’s that time of the year!

Went to the races at the Woodbine Race Track and while I am not much of a gambler, it ended up being a great outing.  I just love being around animals, however I couldn’t help but feel sorry for all the horses …

Lately we have been getting these beautiful sunsets and gorgeous clouds.  I could spend hours taking pictures of the clouds.

I’ve also been working on couple of DIY for my sisters wedding.  She wants to have a wishing tree incorporated and I mad a sample for the singing cards for her to see.   It turned our alright.  The Doily Punch is from Martha Stewart line.

Oh and this is a sample of bag for the candy/sweets table that she is going to have.   Instead of a heart we are thinking of putting ‘thank you’ on it.

We are home today and heading to the pool … gotta love long weekends!

Happy Monday everyone!

if my iPhone could tell you what it did this weekend…this is what it’d say…

Not a whole lot went down this weekend…but yet we seemed just so busy!

We had an awesome bbq with some lovely friends. Made some awesome food, and was actually called a great cook (this never happens to me). Partied until the wee hours of the morning. Had another bbq for lunch (too hungry and tired to take pics). Cleaned and napped. Went to see The Dark Night Rises (amazing movie…just as good as the last one). And then cleaned all day yesterday.

Phew. That went by quickly! But my lovely sister is coming home this week! Super excited about that!

Happy Monday my lovelies!

if my iPhone could show you what it did this weekend…this is what it’d say…

Bathing dogs. Building baby shower gift baskets (will show more later!).

Summer bracelets & rings made by lovely sister! Seeing a pup I have not seen in years!

Ice cream swipe. Playing with Bunny.

Yup, that pretty much sums up my weekend. Plus a Summerlicious dinner (sorry was too hungry to document). A visit to see a friend perform on his electrical violin. Housewarming apartment swim party. Movie night with the bf. And family lunches and dinners.

I love summer.

Happy Monday!

NeoCon 2012!

Have you ever been to NeoCon?   I haven’t til recently. It was my first time and it was incredible! I couldn’t believe how many great brands where under one roof. However it is such a huge place that two days that we spent there was just not enough to see everything, after all it is about 4 million square feet of showrooms at the Merchandise Mart … the building is so big that at one point it had its own Zip Code.

So here are few of the highlights:

1. Herman Miller: Bringing the old school back … it reminded me of Mad Men.
2.  Really cool chair by Coalesse called Hosu
3.  Teknion task chair, the chair has Responsive Back Technology
4.  Haworth, these chairs reminded me of Austin Powers, but nonetheless I thought there were really comfortable and great to look at.
5.  How cools is this saddle seating by Haworth?  We all love it!
6. Knoll showroom had all these interesting collaboration spaces, on few instances they had seating areas around very low coffee tables with a low pendant light fixture right above it.  I have been meaning to try this set up in my living room.
7.  Lounger by Knoll and Schultz Petal end tables.

I can’t wait till next year!

The Windy City!

… and boy it was windy! I made a mistake of only packing dresses and skirts.  On the first day my dress almost got lifted by the wind, if it did it would have been really bad, as I was in company of my boss.  Just imagine how embarrassing that would!!

Chicago is defintly my kind of a town, it is not as crazy and amazing NYC but it is close 2nd and it was just as great night life, amazing restaurants and of course The Magnificent Mile!!  I loved Chicago and can’t wait to go there again … hopefully next year for NeoCon.

Here are few shots from my iPhone of this amazing, magnificent city!
