Ahhhh vacay…

Sometimes a little break from real life is all you need. To feel the sand beneath your toes, and the sunshine on your skin. My goodness was it glorious – I swear we were supposed to exist in a tropical location…I just know we were!

We (sister and I)  had the pleasure of heading to a family friends place in Florida, where all these pictures pretty much summed up what our daily activities were.

Beach. Dogs. Food.

I could have done with more sun…these golden babies, are not as golden as they’d like to be.

We actually didn’t sleep in at all, and rarely napped- unless it was on the beach. We ate well, and shopped for sure. But shopped on a budget – mostly Target, and then maybe a few boutique stores on Main Street. I was dying to get some “beach decor” for my Muskoka Beach Cottage project, (which you can see is taking shape on Instagram), but was stopped by the sister, as I couldn’t take home shoes and home decor in my suitcase!

Psh…next time!

All said and done, I am much less stressed, and ready to take on a new month before my next little break (next time to see the family).

Happy Tuesday lovelies, thanks for reading!

Oh hey guys! Happy Friday!

N here, and I am off to Florida to soak up some serious sunshine. Things are pretty busy here, and I am in need of some sun and some rest and relaxation…aka park this golden baby butt on the beach and stop looking so incredibly pale.

Check Instagram for more real time updates, and I will chat with all you when I get back- may or may not blog when I am away…we’ll see. But to me a vacation…usually means a vacaSHON!

Thanks so much for reading, and keep M company!

So New Years, we headed over to M & hubs place, and had ourselves a little Korean BBQ, testing out their new grill! M’s hubs is Korean, sorta Korean… Korean when he wants to be. So lucky us we seriously got to bust out a full blown Korean grill. Boy oh boy was it delish!

Late night laughter, bouts of tiredness, plenty of beer & Monopoly (for the boys) and lots of girl chatter!

The bf’s birthday is December 20th. December 21st is when the world was supposed “to end”, according to the Mayan calendar. So this year, he wanted to “go out with a bang”.

Why not have a dinner with all your family and friends and just drink, eat and enjoy each others company!

We booked it, a dinner of 35 amazing people…and a wonderful night was had. Unfortunately, some people couldn’t made it due to family obligations etc. we really wish they did come…but we are just so appreciative of every single individual who DID come!

The dinner was not the surprise, but a fellow girlfriend of the group and I did all the decor. Inspired by my daily finds on Pinterest, I totally pulled it off. Thanks to the help of others, and the hard work…the party was just what I had envisioned.

So much so that I will be announcing some big news..work wise…great things for 2013!

Each place setting had, made by yours truly:

a small gold animal (the idea here was like Noah’s Arc..two by two…)

a personally sewn napkin- ranging in about 5 different fabric options

1 striped straw

Beyond that, we had white & black & gold glass votives, confetti (in all our colours), a Kraft paper table runner, and a tissue paper banner! Boy was it festive!

Thank you to our friends and family for celebrating their potentially “last night alive” with us! It would not have been the same without you!

I have a confession.

I may or may not be a obsessed serious blog follower of Sydney. So much so that my sister saw this post and thought..OMG great Christmas gift! She was right, I screamed and said “IS THIS THE SWEATER THAT SYDNEY WAS WEARING?!?” As if I know her personally.

Therefore voila! this was my attempt to be sorta…maybe somewhat like her (fashion wise at least). Coincidentally, before her post I bought those F21 booties in Dark Brown, and shipped them to AZ. I figure I can totally try to mimic her style….because I love/adore her and her little family, and her style oh so very much.

Crazy huh? How we grow to like/love/wanna be friends with/could be friends with the bloggers we follow!

With that said, if I had one of those “OMG we are wearing the exact same thing at the exact same time” and it was Sydney…I may almost be starstruck (totally not embarrassed), then secretly high-five myself in my head.

Just saying.
