Yum!!!

You all know by now that N and I are huge foodies … we love to indulge in food, especially the sweet stuff.  As much as we are alike when it comes to design, we differ in many ways … like N hates seafood … she thinks it takes fishy … well duh, it’s supposed!
I on the other hand love seafood … I could it all the time!
And that is why this Crab Melt caught my eye!
It just looks sooo yummy! I can’t wait to test it out!

dsc3077v dsc3113Crab Melt
For 2
1/2 lb lump crab meat
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 eggs
1/4 cup mayonnaise (optional)
1 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon of sweet paprika
1/2 teaspoon old bay seasoning
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
1/2 jalapeño, finely chopped (more if you want it spicy)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon, plus more for garnish, finely chopped chives
jarlsberg cheese, sliced
2 slices sourdough bread, toasted
1 tablespoon chives, finely chopped
Pre heat oven to 400F.
Whisk together the egg, and ingredients for the crab mixture. Gently fold in the crabmeat, taking care again to not break up the lumps of crab meat. Spoon onto the two slices of toast, top with a slice of jarlsberg, and bake for 3 minutes.  Turn up the heat to broil, and broil until bubbling and lightly browned (about 3 minutes). Garnish with chives.

Have you Canadians ever heard of Prairie Girl Cupcakes?

O M Goodness. To die for!

This amazing bakery makes only cupcakes. Cupcakes of all sorts, special edition ones, unique flavoured ones, and some classic ones that boy-oh-boy knock your socks off.

M insisted that she get those cupcakes, and I was 150% on board with her. My sister almost had a heart attack when I told her that they – PGB – didn’t deliver/open on Sundays. THAT is how incredibly gluttonous we are.

We got them. We indulged. I still have some in the freezer to eat at a later time.

Well the lovely team over there is going to use some of the images my sister took of that day in their client meetings/web page etc. How awesome is that- so pumped!

Oh ya and the watermark on the bottom – my new company!

Stay tuned we are not ready to launch yet!

Happy Wednesday!

p.s. and how adorable is M all preggers – too cute!

Baby love…

mayashower

*all images taken by us!

Well this past weekend was M’s Baby Shower!

Oh my it was fun, and I’ve been looking forward to it for such a long time! She is so preggers and so adorable…you’ll have to pinch me! She is really only showing in her lovely belly, and sometimes you can’t even tell she’s preggers. We had funny baby games, too much food, lovely desserts (Prairie Girl Cupcakes – uh to die for), so much help from the Mama’s (both our Mama’s rocked!) and my perfect assistant (my sister)…and just a ridiculously awesome wholesome fun time with so much love and presents (always a good thing).

Everything really went according to plan – although we had so many left overs…better than making our guests starve though..huh!

But man am I pooped- parties are a ton of work.

But as I gaze into those pics, I hope that we can inspire others for their showers/parties because if I do say so myself…these I , think are “Pinterest” worthy.

We did it lovely ladies – yay to us!

Thanks for reading!

So we at Nest have a Mama-to-be…and are throwing her an awesome baby shower in a little while. I thought that we could show you some of our ideas for the event…and then of course we will show you the actual event. Her colours are grey, white and yellow. And she loves chevrons.

With that said, I, N – designed the invitations (which we will show you later), and M, M’s sister and I have done all the decor. This week we will be tieing up all the loose ends of the party, and getting ready to play ridiculous games, and have a grand time!

How lovely are little parties… huh? Any excuse to decorate for me!

Thanks for reading, happy weekend!

mmmm cake!!!

Did someone say cake? YUM!!! This pregnant lady is cake obsessed.

I have always loved dessert, but lately the only major pregnancy craving that I have is cake.

I love cake!!! But, I have not given in … just yet.

I have been carefully watching what I eat and cake is not on the list of things I can eat right now, but thank you Pinterest for allowing me to indulge my eyes at least while I look

So if you can, have some cake for me!
